HTML Tags

HTML basic tags

HTML tags are always written in lowercase. Below are the few basic examples.

Heading Tags

Heading tags are used to define headings. Heading tags ranges from <h1> to <h6>

<h1> represents most important heading and <h6> represents least.

Example of Heading

<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
<title>Headings</title>
</head>
<body>
<h1>Heading 1</h1>
<h4>Heading 4</h4>
<h6>Heading 6</h6>
</body>
</html>

Paragraph tag

Syntax:

<p>..here goes your para.. </p>

This tag is when you want to write different paragraphs. Every paragraph should be enclosed within these tags. The new paragraph will automatically starts from next line.

Example

<body>
<p>This is paragraph 1.</p>
<p>Hello! I am second paragraph.</p>
<p>Third Paragraph is here..</p>
</body>

Output:

This is paragraph 1.

Hello! I am second paragraph.

Third Paragraph is here..

Link Tag

Syntax:

<a href="http://www.tutorialheap.com"></a>

This tag is used to link one page from another.
Link of other webpage is defined inside the href attribute.

Example:

<body>
<a href="http://www.tutorialheap.com">Click me.</a>
</body>
